Registration

Quests and other wilderness programs require careful preparation. For nine day Quest programs, a handbook is sent to registrants with information on the physical, psychological and spiritual preparation needed to undertake the program. Emails or letters to participants supplement the handbook, providing additional information about travel, meeting time and place, equipment, weather, terrain and food arrangements. Enrollment is limited to ten participants.

Our programs involve time spent in the wilderness and are not without an element of risk; participants should carry their own health insurance, and must sign a liability release form.

QUEST SITES

“Mebbin” – adjacent to Mount Warning (Wollumbin), Northern New South Wales.Wollumbin – a sacred place. Wollumbin is the Aboriginal name for the Mt Warning mountain complex. It is a sacred place of great spiritual significance to the people of the Bundjalung Nation. Wollumbin is a traditional place of cultural law, initiation and spiritual education. Mount Warning is the central plug of a huge, shield shaped volcano formed twenty million years ago. Mebbin National Park forms part of this rim. The ancient forests that occur within the national parks are a window into the past when rainforest covered much of the Australian continent.

"Ipolera" - is an Aboriginal outstation. Mavis and Hermann (pictured right), are the custodians of this ancient land.

Getting There

Wollumbin and Mebbin National Parks can all be accessed from the Murwillumbah to Kyogle road. The Quest site is approximately 10 minutes from Uki, and just over an hour’s drive south from the Coolangatta airport (Gold Coast, Qld).

Carpooling is arranged among group members where necessary to transfer from Coolangatta airport to Mebbin.

Ipolera is located 2 hours drive west of Alice Springs. There is an airport at Alice Springs as well as at Uluru which is 4 hrs drive from Alice Springs.

Environmental and Non-discrimination Policies

Seven Generations is a non-discriminating organization.

We are committed to the highest ethics and standards as wilderness guides, and practice “leave no trace” camping. We are members of the Wilderness Guides Council (WGC), a group of guides dedicated to competent, ethical and ecologically sound use of wilderness ecosystems.

Our guides serve as a loving mirror of story and meaning for participants in our programs. Staff members provide information, preparation, feedback and support, but nature is the real teacher for those who undertake the quest.

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees cover preparatory information and staff guidance for the entire Quest program duration. Tuition does not cover carpool or other transportation costs.  Tuition includes all food except restaurant meals. A $400 Vision Quest non-refundable deposit is required to register.  The balance, due one month before departure, is non-refundable after that date. We offer a $300 discount for Vision Quest for registrations 45 days prior to commencement of programs. Early bird registrations help us to lock in quests at least 45 days out allowing time to confirm travel arrangements etc. hence the $300 discount.

Letter of Intent

We require a Letter of Intent with registration, telling us about yourself and expressing your purpose or intent for undertaking the quest.

Miscellaneous

All base camp meals are vegetarian.  While most participants fast during the three day solo, fasting is not required.  Information about fasting is presented in the Handbook.
You are responsible for providing your own camping and backpacking equipment. The Quest handbook provides thorough guidelines of the equipment needed.
